Aimed at a public readership, house + design will be an invaluable source for anybody thinking of building, extending or renovating – showcasing over 12 architect-designed houses, home renovations and extensions in Ireland.
Architects will open their invaluable sourcebooks and provide readers with ideas, inspiration, expert advice and a unique insight into the latest solutions for interiors, design and craft. All the work featured will be the work of registered architects accompanied by drawings and technical information. Each issue will be an indispensable guide to de-mystifying the building process – from finding an architect to submitting a planning application and the construction process.
About the RIAI
Founded in 1839, the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland is the Regulatory and Support body for Architect in Ireland and promotes the value that architecture brings to society for everyone’s benefit. The RIAI engages with government, the professions, industry, clients and the public to promote the value of quality and design in architecture to deliver attractive and sustainable built environments; to enrich our distinctive culture and heritage; to contribute to the competitiveness of our economy; and to improve quality of life for the people of Ireland, today and for generations to come. We also provide support to Architects and Architectural Technologists.
As the official registration body under the Building Control Act 2007, the RIAI is committed to discharging its obligations to administer the Register of Architects in Ireland.
In our public role, we run a number of special initiatives such as the RIAI Simon Open Door. We also provide free advice at public events such as the Ideal Homes Show in the RDS. Our award-winning publications include Irish Architecture, The RIAI Annual Review and our magazines house+design and Architecture Ireland (http://www.architectureireland.ie)- all available from the RIAI Bookshop.
